Cycle is finished. Nitrates were at 40. I did a 20gallon water change yesterday. Nitrates are now 30ish. Should I do another water change in a day or so or wait. looking to start adding a few CUC and get a fish in to QT when I get the nitrates handled.

Tank info.
75g DT, 40g sump (14g used for refugium)
Refugium has cueball sized chunk of chaeto with a couple other leafy macros tumbling with it.
Dry rock 65-70lbs, dry sand 60lbs
Used Bio spira and 30% ammonia to cycle. Raised ammonia to 2ppm twice, 2nd time was to guarantee cycle was done.
Skimmer eshopps s-120 been in since the start. Not really skimming anything because nothing to really skim but its working.
temp 79
Salinity 1.026
Kh 8.1
CA 450
MG 1400
ph 8.2 (this test hard to read)
ammonia 0
Nitrites 0
Nitrates 30
phosphates I dont know. need to get a test kit for this.

Also I have my quarantine tank almost ready. I had the filters for it in the sump of DT. Just put water in it this morning. letting it run with a little ammonia in it to test today.

You can do a water change as frequent and as much as you want..

You planning on corals? Fish can easily tolerate 100+ ppm of nitrate without any issues..

Corals later on. probably 3 months out on those at least. Mixed reef is the plan. No SPS as of yet planned.

So it would be fine to just start doing 15-20% a week or 2 until nitrates are under control ?

Fish wont see tank for at least 4-6 weeks. Depending how long I do QT. only thing going in the tank soon will be some snails. I want a couple fire shrimp but i think i need to QT those also. Im still reading as much as I can. And trying to plan my occupant list.

And thank you mcgyvr.
