Cycle help

Ok so my tank has started the cycle process. We have had a few damsels in for a little over a week. I am also adding Microbe-lift. Right now we have an ammonia spike going on. I am monitoring it ever few days. What are the things I should be seeing next? Should I also be monitoring Nitrate/Nitrite right now or when the ammonia starts to go down?

Check nitrates and nitrites as well, ammonia and nitrites AND nitrates Can exist together. But ultimately the cycle won't be done until both ammonia and nitrites read 0... most tanks will always have nitrates, and that's what water changes, not overfeeding, some macro algae are for ^^
