He's right. The use of live sand, live bacteria, and live rock can cycle a tank quickly.

I added shrimp march 23rd and removed it on 26th..ammonia and nitrites shot through roof...ammonia now almost 0 and nitrites in the purple still..I'm showing a little bit of nitrates.. I have a small filter sponge in the 20gal...
