Ok I set up my tank completely about a week ago. The water was Catalina sea water aged about a month. My live rock is from ocean pro it was "pre cured" rock and I might add completely void of all life!!!!! (But that is a soar subject).
Sand is indo pacific black sand from caribsea.
Now my question is it is a week later and my levels are all still perfect.
My water temp stable at 78-80
All other levels are
PH 8.2
Nitrate 0
Nitrite 0
Ammonia 0
Have not checked calcium as of yet.
Is the lack of life on the live rock causing no die off therefore no ammonia spike?

I am going to keep on going with checking levels and wait till July 15th to see if anything ever changes.

Let me know your theories on it

have you been feeding your tank? tiny pinch of Formula One pellets a day until you get and pass the spike.

Also do you all ever stack you rock against the back wall of your tanks?
I have mixed Tonga shelf, Marshall island, and Tonga Kaelini so i have many caves and ways for the water to get circulation.

I do. That's how you get that nice sloping look.

I have a cove i think it is going to look cool once i get some growth in the tank.
Was worried about creating a ntrate trap but all looks ok thus far.

Well my office lost power yesterday and the A/C died so i got to come in today to a toasty 86 degree tank!!!
At least there was nothing in the tank

If your rock was truly pre-cured, then you shouldn't notice a cycle at all since there would be no die-off from the rock.

Without any bio-load it is impossible to tell if your rock is doing it's job (breaking down nitrogen products) or not.

I'd add a fish or at least a clean-up crew.
