Cycling Question

I have had my tank set up for about three weeks now. When I test the water I get a reading of zero for ammonia and nitrites. I am getting a 10ppm for my nitrates. Will this level drop over the next few weeks or do I need to do something about it. I have a small cleaner crew, two pieces of live rock from the LFS with Caribsea reef rock (turning into live rock). I added one yellow tail damsel, who is doing great. I am running a Skilter 250 filter. I haven't changed the filter media yet so that might help. Any help would be appreciated. When would it be alright to add another fish. This is all in a 30 gal. tank with 40 lbs live sand, and 25-30 lbs rock.

10 on nitrates isn't too bad. since your cycle is done, and if you haven't done so already, i would just do a decent water change - anywhere from 10% - 20%, then just keep an eye on them.

sounds like you're off to a good start.

I did a water change today. It was only a 5%, but I will keep an eye on it and do another water change next week to see if that will help.
