Cyclop-eeze Preparation

How do you prepare Cyclop-eeze? I've just been dropping it in the tank but they end up just floating on the surface water then going to the overflow. Do you mix it with water first and then use a baster to siphon and apply or is there any other means? Also, is there a difference how you prepare for fish and corals? Thanks.

I used a countdown timer to turn off the sump pump and skimmer when feeding. You can use a baster to feed directly to corals. I never did anything special for preparation, although I did use it as an ingredient in fish food, which held together in bigger chunks for larger fish, etc.

i like the frozen cubes. I reach in and place a cube on top of one of the powerheads, as it thaws out the powerhead shoots it through the tank. Seems to work great for any frozen foods. The fish go nuts.

Re: Cyclop-eeze Preparation

If you can get a shot glass or small plastic food grade container. Take the container or glass, put it (carefully) over the coral, lift one side of the container and shoot the Baster with the cyclopeeze under the shot glass. Now keep the glass on the coral it until you can see some food get on the coral.
Now take off the glass. Viola!
Hope that helps. :-)

Are you feeding frozen or freeze dried? I feed frozen, by putting a small amount in a cup, adding SW from the tank, and feeding with a turkey baster. It thaws almost instantly.

I have my system set when I feed my cyclop-eeze it kills all the pumps for 5 minutes while I target feed a few corals it then starts the powerheads and circulates the tank for 20 minutes before starting the main pump

With my previous setup I used to throw some in the return section of the sump, I found it worked really well. With my new setup and no sump, I add a bit more than I normaly would and just let the skimmer eat some too. :p
