I don't think that the skimmer is going to make much of a difference with something as (relatively) large as cyclopeeze. Although I haven't actually looked for them, I don't recall finding any cyclopeeze in my skimmer, and I run a Deltec, so it's a good skimmer. The only thing I shut my skimmer down for is DT's oyster eggs.

Check this out...The other day I cleaned out my skim cup and there was mysis shrimp in it that I usually feed my fish. Aqua C Remora skimmer...how the heck did mysis fit through it??? I mean the pump --> the air jet --> to the cup?but they were in there.

I use AquaC skimmers, and they shut down for me on their own.
I've noticed lots of people do shut them down for an hr or two.

With my" Euro" skimmer I lose 5 gal of water if I don't turn it off for an hour or two.
