Thats EXACTLY what my Fu Manchu Lion does if I use a thick stick like that! Your commentary is great!

Mine just takes food right from my hands now. I kind of had to start hand feeding him because all the big boys take his food if not.

Nice looking fish.

lots of personality in yours too justin? ive never kept a Fu Manchu.

Lisa i found it at an LFS locally in NorCal. They are uncommon, but surprisingly the price is always reasonable. I paid 29.99 + tax IIRC. I think I saw them for sale on a popular website, will go check. EDIT- yes swf dot com lists them, for 29, but the picture is funky, looks like a barberi/brachypterus (sp?) cross... idk

B. P - I know right? so so funny, my favorite photo.

I guess you guys and girls can tell i discovered the joys of photobucket. and have too much time on my hands...

Oh yeah mine has lots of personality now. He was so shy for about 6-7 months until he finally figured out Im where the food comes from.

Now he eats out of my hand.

At night he wakes up and cruises around the tank. If I go to his "feeding" corner, he will pace the glass spreading his fins out and biting. His fins look beautiful when he does this! Once he sees my hand come into the tank with silversides, he calms right down. Kind of like a puppy who realizes he is getting what he wants and is trying to be good!

Took a long time for him to trust me though.

What size tank is he in? That is really a sweet looking reef tank. Those croceas look great. Any other fish with him?

27.5-30g idk, ive never measured the gallons in that tank, its a divided either 55 or 60. there are no other fish with him. After i initially set up that tank the reef looked really cool - but there wasn't a big enough cave for him. So I took out half the rock and put this h u g e (for the tank size) piece of shelf rock in. Now he has a monster overhang and I have a big ugly rock in my reef!. thats dedication baby.

in fact, the crocea on the left, i had to cut his byssal cords to remove him from the other rock, yikes - first time ive done that. then i placed him in a good low flow/high light spot and he was attached and oped same day.
