I have a remora but I m not happy with it.

I have read that thyphon an octopus nw200 are much better.

I would like to hear your recommendations for a 40 gallon tank

I do not have a sump. I know that that octopus have some hang on skimmer. Are they good?

I had a Remora with the MJ-1200 pump and surface skimmer box. I was not happy with it because it could only collect a half-cup of skim every two weeks.

I switched to a Tunze 9010 and now collect a cup of wet skim daily. The advantage of the Tunze 9010 is that it can be used in your aquarium initially and then be converted to sump use later.

I've heard great things about the Typhoon. The $68 price is fantastic.

The typhoon is a nice little skimmer, especially for the cost, and would skim a 40 gallon tank no problem.
