Daily temp swing

The ATO is up stream from the salinity probe and in the sump. Maybe I should overlay the on/off graph for the ATO? That would have some (minor) influence as the temp of the ATO water is about 70 f. But than, does it really matter, or is it just more info than we need.
 
Well I can take from this is a few degree change in temp equals about .6ppm change in salinity based on mg98 post. While that is by no means detrimental to a tank and I would expect you'd be able to keep most all animals just fine.

If your keeping sps corals you know that stability is the key to good growth. If we can see a change I'm sure the corals can sense it too.
 
Don't know about corals but fish are cold blooded animals and adjust their internal temperature to match the external temperature and adjust their metabolism to fit, i.e. slow way down in very cold waters.
