Dallas' Mile-High SPS Reef on the Plateau

Reefing from South Africa
Okay after almost 20years in this hobby and several tanks later i have decided to go all out and build me the tank i have always wanted, with all the bells and whistles. there are a few items i still need but i will get those when the time is right or its really needed. i am also shutting down all my other tanks and builds.

So since my house is a mile above sea-level i thought the name was fitting. I have been inspired by Reef in the Sky and Amfynn's tanks and a few others on RC in the SPS Forums and decided i would strive to get mine to those tanks. I will be using my own zeo-way based on Brightwell Aquatics additives.

Here are the juicy bits:

Tank 1200x800x500 starphire, 3 sides viewable, skinny overflow, dual 32mm and 20mm return
Stand is made from 50mm square-tubing, black powder coated. I will be building a wood facade for it from a dark ebony wood.

PCM UPS for return pump

Ellies 1200w Inverter to run heaters and vortech

Light unit - silver ceiling 8 x 54w on 3 timers
All globes are geisemann
Aquablue +

6 x 5000L sun-sun's
1 x Vortech MP10w
Return is 3000L

Skimmer is a bubble blaster 3000 internal

Reef Octo Zeolith Filters x 2

Reef Octo Kalkwasser Reactor

Reef Octo Phos Reactors, 1 for carbon, 1 for Brightwell ExtraxPhos and 1 for Brightwell NitratR and OrganicR

Reef Octo CarX + Pro PH Controller

Pro PH Monitor

3 x 300 Titanium heaters

Auto-top up unit, float and added and sonic sensor

Filter sock and bracket, modded to use Milk Socks and emergency overflow

Prodibio Starter Pack

Profilux 4 channel doser with controller
1. Brightwell Reef Code A
2. Brightwell Reef Code B
3. Brightwell BioFuel
4. Brightwell Koralle-VM

Also 3 sumps - 1 for all the reactors and skimmers
one for RO water and topup
and the other for Saltwater for auto WC

There will be no dsb, all filtration will be a hybrid Berlin & Zeolith method with 100kgs of LR in the DT and sumps. I have over engineered the filtration as i plan to stock this tank heavily with SPS and fish and inverts.

Just FYI, there is actually a distributor in south africa now.

I found a local supplier of ZeoVIT and busy using today to decide if i am going that route or brightwell... thought that was hard but now scaping is going to be worse.

I am not sure if i should go natural scaping, or scaping to show off SPS... what you all think?
