I have this fish in a 400 gal I have about 6 fish with him. he has always been the boss of the tank and yesterday was acting fine eating like a bear.
I got home today and he was acting shy behind a rock. and blew my mind when he did not eat today he is breathing heavy. . I have a big blueline in qt now so I don't have a setup for him don't know what to do .
do I release the blueline and catch him for the qt
water is fine this is really weird. all other fish are fine.

Those are bad signs for a dominant angel fish. Releasing the blueline into the DT isn't a good idea IMO since it's very likely the DT is already contaminated. I would suggest to 1) do an one hour dip with seachem paraguard for the blue face, and 2) do a large WC of the DT. Try to read up literature and check against the symptom for likely disease and evaluate med option wrt dosing the DT.

Anything new added to the tank recently? Even a coral/invert? Are any of the other fish in the 400 gal acting abnormally? How long have you had the Blueface?

I noticed from another thread you are having problems (flukes) with the Blueline in QT. Any possibility of cross contamination? Even a drop of water?

no water got crossed the blueline is in qt
I have had the blueface for 1 year and everyone else is normal. no new additions but did swap tanks 300 to 400 3 weeks ago.
if he is still like this tomorrow should I treat display with cupramine?

I'm assuming this is a FO? Even so, I wouldn't treat the entire DT with Cupramine unless I was pretty sure I was dealing with Ich or Velvet here...

Can you catch the angel and perform a f/w dip to check for flukes?

I have done dosing cupermine to my DT, but it's the last resort when most of the livestock got sick from ich and my QTs can't handle the load. But if it's the only fish that seems sick, then catch him and dip him. I personally prefer a med like paraguard when I don't know what I'm dealing with, since it is a board spectrum med. if you do use cupermine, make sure to get the right copper testing kit otherwise you can easily over dose it and my exp with large angel is that they are quite sensitive to it.

i am at a stumped he is hiding like when I fist got him now but no signs of any prob. this is a fish that ate out of my hands . I will go nuts if I loose him.i just spent over $5000.00 going to a larger tank for my fish. everyone else eating and acting fine.

Is he breathing heavily?

I had a regal angel that displayed the same symptoms - shy, hiding, loss of aptitude, and fast breathing. It died within 2 days. I still don't know what killed it. I would suggest to catch him ASAP and do an one hour bath with paraguard since it's broad spectrum med.

+1 At least remove the fish from the main aquarium and place him in a QT. I would use freshly mixed s/w water just in case it's a water quality issue. Once in QT, you can observe more closely, perform dips, etc.

I think his QT is occupied.

it is occupied ,and I fear some how I will have to treat this whole display with copper .I have qt ed all fish about 1 year to get to this point and I am ****ed .I just ordered seachem cupermine enough for 1000 gal to have on hand .I am praying I don't have to . i cant believe this even with qt for all the fish. sometimes i don't know why i even bother . this is my new tank about 3 weeks old. transfer from 300 gal.

Cupramine can be hard on large angels. If you don't see ich, don't risk the fish when he's having trouble as it is, and especially don't treat the DT unless it's an emergency (velvet, severe ich) situation. Copper precipitates into calcium carbonate (LR and LS) and it's very difficult to maintain stable levels.

Is the fish flashing or twitching? Any visible signs? Are his eyes/fins clear? My bet would be flukes with the limited info given... Can you post water parameters?

+1 on cupermine on large angel, especially in a DT. Still doable, but absolutely need something like the seachem copper kit. API doesn't work.

+2 I surely wouldn't copper a DT unless: a) I knew for sure it was Ich or Velvet & b) Had absolutely no other choice.

I wont ever do it unless I know for sure . I just want to have it on hand .
last resort I got so much because I know its had to keep the levels with rock and sand. and I have 2 of there test kits which is still hard to read .
