well i have a major problem. I have a mycedium cup coral that fell on top of a turbinaria coral during the night. now i dont know if it was the impact or if it was chemical warfare but the mycedium is missing some tissue at the bottom edge (the skeleton is completely exposed along a short strip at the front edge) I placed it back in a similar spot but obviously more secure. what can i do to help it? what about lighting? i have 4*54W T5's HO over my tank suspended 2 1/2 inches from the surface, and the coral is 6 inches from the water surface. salinity is 1.024, and chemical parameters are ideal. sorry for the long post, any help will be greatly appreciated.

It was stung from the Turbinaria's nematocysts. It wasn't physically damaged or chemical warfare. The only thing you can do is to make sure that things stay the same. Keep water parameters even and in check. If it's hungry, feed it. Attempt to not touch it. It will eventually heal on it's own.

You should be fine. As long as the damage wasn't too bad, it should be able to recover. There is a chance that it will be permanent damage, but I can't tell without a picture. Over time, it will grow over it though. The current lighting will do fine. Especially if it is used to it. You might want to keep an eye on infection though. At first signs of deterioration, I would frag off the healthy parts in order to save it.

Like the tissue is coming off or there is brown or white jelly like stuff forming on the edge between the healthy tissue and the damaged area.

It will be fine, if want you can slowly move it lower in the tank, that coral does not demand super high light. Best of luck and I am sure all will be fine.
