Damaged war coral?

Noticed that new (week and half) war coral has damage to it. Is this normal or should I place it somewhere else in the tank? Thanks for your help.

Not sure there is enough room in my sand bed. Take a look and see, left side is OK but too close to acan or xenia?

I've found they really need low light..
Throw it on the sand bed in a shaded spot (I know... looks like you don't have one of those.. time to get creative)

Thanks, this is not the sand but it is shaded and as close to the sand as I can find a shaded spot. Think it will do?

How do you keep corals on the sandbed without being pushed around by invert?

In general corals and their frag plugs are "bigger/heavier" than most inverts can push around easily..
Its never been a problem for me really..

Just out of curiosity do you have any shrimp in your tank? It almost looks like the green tissue around the mouth has been picked away. The only reason I say this is because I just had a Peppermint shrimp do this to my War coral frag. It looks almost identical to yours.

Have a cleaner shrimp and a red fire shrimp. Have moved it now so if it is the shrimp hopefully they can't get to it.
