Damn Diamond Goby

Krazy

In Memoriam
I tell ya, these diamond gobies are a gift to a sand bed by day and a terror for sucide by night, Sarah and I were laying on the couch watching some movies this evening, well the lights in teh tank switch and go off, kept hearing a tud every 20 mins or so, didnt think much of it other then "thats odd" well I get up and as I'm walking by my tank, what lands literally almost in front of me, my damn diamond goby, from under my canopy, off the back wall to in front of me in the living room, I tossed him right back in, I guess it was his lucky night I was walking buy, I made a quick egg crate "defense shield" I'll have to make something thats gonna stay tommorow...

I know these fish like to jump but damn!!!!

I was wondering where the salt creep/splash on my halides was coming from

He's making sand dunes this morning like he never jumped ship last night, I gotta make a secure barrier on the back of my canopy today along with some fan guards for my 4inch ice cap's

(yikes)

They are very cool to watch. I especially like it when a snail tumbles into his hole and he picks the whole snail up in his mouth and moves it away. To me it implies an intelligence that other fish don't seem to have.

Chris,

I couldnt agree more, they are very cool to watch, he's muching away, my sand looks great and like you mentioned, I love how he just moves them snails with his mouth, or the hermit crabs, haha !!!

I just wish they had enough brains to not wanna jump, maybe after last nights episode he/she may realize that there is no other tide pool outside the box it's in :p

I recently added one to my reef as well. I have yet to see any jumping. Hmmmm! The top of my tank is basically open on 3 sides. I have a sun shield along the front of the tank to deflect the MH rays from our living room furniture & Tv viewing. lol
