DAMN I've got redbugs now!!!

Hello all,

Ok so I was looking ove rthe tank the other day and discovered I have redbugs on a few of my colonies.
So what are my options really for treatment?
Is my only choice the use of interceptor? I have been clooking over the site trying to find as much info as possible and it does seem the interecptor is the best method.
Should I treat the entire tank or just the colonies that are infected? Any help that can be offered would be great.
also what would the long term effects be if I didn't treat them?

PS does any one have any interceptor locally so I could buy a few tabs from them?

Yes, interceptor is your only choice.

Yes, you should treat your whole tank.

If you don't treat then your coral will not have as good of polyp extension as they would have normally. They will not grow as fast. They could possibly die because of the redbugs.

If you need some interceptor you can comtact Robert, Rogger, or myself. You can buy it from Petmed store too. The sight says (wink wink) you need a prescription.

Ok just a few questions though before treatment. I should remove all of my crustaceans correct?

Fish should be ok right?

And it should be safe for all other corals too right?

How am I going to catch all my shrimp and crabs LOL

I'll probbably give Rogger a call since he is closest to me.

Interceptor will kill pods and crabs, might kill snails and shrimp. I have a cleaner shrimp that's a made it through 4 doses of double strength interceptor.

All fish will be fine.

All corals and clams will eb fine.

You probably won't catch all your shrimp and crabs unless you tear your rock apart.

sorry to get OT but how do you replenish your pods after something like this? onyl reason i ask is because i almost never see the tell tale white spots on the glass like you usually do when you have a good pod population and wonder if i could add some somehow...

The best way is probably to get some cheatomorpha from someone that has a good pod poputation and then be patient.

Just bumped into your discussion on red bugs....we have the same problem with no remedy. Can you fill me in on how to get this Interceptor? Really appreciate all the help you can pass along.

First of all mike hope everything gets better soon. I am getting my halides this week. And first thing I though of what that monti cap.

Rogger, well actually to anyone who has it, I gues Ludwigia would be the best bet, who has a great pod population with some chaeto to spare?
