Damsel Life Expectancy

What is the life expectancy of the yellow tail damsel? Mine will be 11 years old in April. He is the orginal damsel I started my tank with. He even survived moving the tank to a new location. How much longer do I have to wait!?!

Do you have a pic? What does a damsel that's been in captivity for 11 years look like? How is his temperment now and how has been throughout the years? I have 4 in my tank that have been in my tank for 6 months and they are relatively docile contrary to what everybody says about them.

too long!!!!

Ditto. Evil creatures always have long lifespans. :)

You could have all kinds of cool fish like tangs, angels and so forth. But that one damsel in your tank will outlive everyone.

I'm going through the same thing with my blackmouth chromis. I absolutely hate that fish and can't wait til he dies. But I've had him for two years now and he will outlive everything in my tank.

I don't think they die naturally. I have had one for 7 years and is has survived several moves in addition to a few mini disasters, and yes, he looks the best out of all the fish in the tank.

agreed i have a three year old four stripe damsel that was probably a couple years old when i got him stupid mistake hes such a ***** lol sometimes i just wanna bring out the 22 lol

Thank you for the compliments. And you're right, he will probably outlive me. I kept this damsel out of the original six I purchased because he seemed to be the most docile. However, I think he has chased some of the fish I have had while I haven't noticed ie clown fish, cleaner fish, etc. Sneaky. Don't want to get rid of him (although I have thought of it many times) because he's the only one that has lived so long. Can't wait until he dies though!
