Damsel Question

I have a 65 gallon (tall) reef tank with only a peacock mantis shrimp (griffin) in it. I was considering adding a few damsels. Putting aside whether or not the peacock will attack the fish, what is a good number. I was considering three yellow tailed but not sure if three would be too fwe? too many? I had read an odd number is the appropriate odd/even amount but not sure if three is good. Thanks for the help all.

you should have no problems mixing and matching damsels
Damsels are great in a damsels only tank--but IMO not suitable in a reef tank--they grow up to be bullies and attack the other fish

hmm damsel in with a mantis shrimp---I have a damsel that you can experiment with if you want LOL

The only fish in the tank will be damsels. I am hopeful that the peacock will not be able to catch the damsels unless they swim in to it. When I said reef, I meant coral plus the mantis shrimp. Thanks for your input.

I keep hearing that the yellow tails are less aggressive than other damsels. That's what I decided to get as my first sw fish, and he's great. He's scared of my 2 Tangs. :)

btw, the cover of the last fostersmith cataog i got in the mail shows a shoal of yellow tail damsels. What a sight!!! They are gorgeous little fish!

I would go with about 5-7 damsels, depending on how much movement you want in the tank. I like the yellow tails as well!!
