Dandelion Patch?

I noticed today that one of my rocks (and spreading to the surrounding ones) are a slew of new 'creatures.' Are they safe or should I take preventive action?

If you can remove the rock they're on and kill them, you might want to. They can take over a tank and ruin every rock in there. Too bad, they're really quite pretty.

are they REALLY blue?

are they REALLY blue?

or is that just the lighting?

Those polyps are totally harmless. I believe they are an unusual type of Indonesian Clavularia.

It's all what you like and want in your tank. If you have space in your tank and want it covered then let it grow. The people that say kill it would say the same about GSP. I would say kill it too. LOL. Really if you can contain it on an island then why get rid of it. It's really fun to have a small coral in your tank that just randomly showed up. I've got some polyps in mine that showed up one day and I was so excited. It has overtaken rocks though and unless I get rid of all my rock I'll probably always have it somewhere.

Aptasia isn't a bad thing if you like it and it's not causing any harm to your tank.
