dang anemones

If your anemone is doing this on a hourly basis than something is definately bothering it in the water. Lighting would have nothing to do with it...

On another note, do you have any clownfish hosting it? I will assume that you just bought this anemone.

It's probably one of those new oscillating BTA that have been showing up lately...

What does this mean? "oscillating BTA "

It's a funny statement to me... I got home on Saturday night to find my anem had attempted to move again but got caught in the currents in my tank and was just spinning around and around and around, fully expanded and looking "happy as a clam".

That was an oscillating bta.

so what would qualify a lta as super? just for knowledge?

Oh I was being very sarcastic. lol.

I am still not sure what thrillreefer meant by "oscillating BTA." I know to oscillate means to "sway back and forth" however anemones only do that in the current. A BTA is a BTA, not an oscillating BTA. Now there are going to be a plethora of color morphs and personalities of individuals but BTAs are not suppose to shrink up on a hourly basis. That's a sign that it is being stressed.

Deepbluesea, did you see any verrucae under the oral disk when your anemone got caught in the current?
