10 feet is the max recommended length for the cable between the AquaController and the direct connect box. DCX to DCX max length is also 10 feet.

I am using a 2' phone cord from my AC3Pro to a DC 8 then a 20' phone cord from the DC 8 to a DC4HD upstairs, it is working great.

Just started the first Rum and Coke thanks...let me know how it works on your setup.
I tried to avoid electrical wires etc and it is as solid as a rock.

Works great. I used cat 5e cable and rj11 connectors to make all my wires though.
