Dan's 20L build.

My question is though, do you find that the 24" fixture lights the far edges well enough?

This is a pic of my old 20L. I had a 4x24w Tek retro kit in a hood and the sides were fine. :) Sorry for the crappy pic. IIRC I was fixing some bubble issues in the sump when this was taken. Looks like a good start Dan!

Thanks. Wasn't trying to hijack. Just showing what the bulbs could do. That crocea did fine just a few inches from the side.

Couple more pix

added another coral and a mated pair of clowns
I don't know many coral names, I just kinda pick out ones that I like that are affordable, my local fish guy is great and lets me know if he think they will survive in my tank.

You can see the new coral in the bottom left of the clownfish picture, its a stoney coral, and it has like tiny green tenacles, and it opens up and longer tenacles come out. I can't for the life of me remember its name.

Galaxy? Looks like you may need a little more flow in there before you start adding too many more stony corals...

Yeah, the galaxia is what he called it, Its getting a lot of flow in the spot it is, but Im pondering an mp10es for the near future.

Did a 5 Gallon (25%) Water change today and moved the one zoa onto a rock, it kept getting sand dumped all over it from the flow.

Still pondering the last fish (maybe 2?) to add. Want a wrasse, liked the leopard wrasse but liveaquaria says min tank 50g so idk seems like hes out.

Also like the green clown goby.

Going to probably pick up the trumpet coral soon.

I think it's really personal preference. You and I have nearly identical amounts of rock from the look of it. I think it looks good but I also chose this amount of rock for my 20L. My opinion doesn't really matter; what matters is that you like it.

I keep looking at other 20L (and highs) and I feel like I have too much rock, anyone have any input.

Do I think you have too much?.... No. But remember that frags and such sometimes come on cool pieces of LR or you may want to add a rock in the future that will expand your fauna, thus, giving you too much rock in the future. So if it's just perfect now, then one more rock will be too much.

You may choose to address this by 1. remove a couple rocks now in anticipation of more LR in the future. 2. Designate a couple of "first to go" rocks that you don't put any coral on.
