ok well, might as well... plz keep in mind if you havent seen mine before or read about my methods, I do things a little differently... basically only for the appeal to my own eye... and the benefit of my corals...

i started keeping sps about 10 to 11 months ago for the first time, please excuse the pics, they are horrible... here and on my thread...

if anyone would like to learn a bit more, there is a link following as well... the last page, post #114 gives a good explanation of my method and reasoning... as does the firs few post of the first page as well...

thanks for looking guys, be gentle lol ;)

Hahaha that's so crafty, how do you prevent those pillars of frag plugs from falling over, with those Vortechs blowing a Tsunami? ( No pun intended )

Very unique! What is the motivation of your aqua-scrape approach?

i jus wanted to do something different... to make a "display case" out of it... clearly alot of them have a ways to go, but it will look alot better in a few months and more down the road when the ones i obtained the last couple months grow a bit and you dont see the tiles so much and the tiles themselves encrust with corraline and whatnot a bit more... i really wanted to do something different, but not cheesy... different, but with substance...

and boy, have i learned alot the last year or so about really keeping corals and the diligence and dedication it takes to succeed... however, jus making it to the one year mark doesnt prove much, i know this... alot of the forming of my opinions and views came from this particular forum and from many of you... so thank you... alot of you have helped me immensily without even knowing it :)

they are actually pretty heavy, and the taller ones transfer alot of weight and energy straight down... i love to run my vortecs at constant full speed, but most of the time they are in full strength reef crest mode, so they go from 50% to 100% on their own...

my next tank, i hope to be something like 60" x 24" x 18" high... that way i can jus use the same light and every other peice of equipment i have and maybe jus add one more mp40es... the stand was even made to hold that size tank ahead of time, so all i will have to do is change out the tank, but that wont be needed jus yet...

This is like the coral museum! And I should know, I work at one!

Corals look good, how about some close-ups of the colonies in back?

however, jus making it to the one year mark doesnt prove much, i know this...

A lot of people and tanks don't even make it to a 1 year mark so give yourself credit for what you have done so far. I have always been a firm believer that the hardest part of reef keeping is expectation and a firm commitment. When newer people get into the hobby with high (false) expectation and they don't get the result they expected, their commitment falls apart and they quit. Since you are already fully aware of this, I think you will have a lot of success.

Aqua-scrape is one of these things that it only has to appeal to you so good luck (and post update regularly).

most of these pics are a about month old, so there has been a little growth since...

i guess you could say i started with some more simple ones... the last couple months i have added some "higher end" and ones that are a bit more difficult since i seemed to have faired well so far...

some of the smaller peices now include...

monti setosa
icefire echi
500 efflo
carl's candlelight
cali tort
tyree purple monster (looked into the lineage, appears to be legit ;) )
bellina (i believe)
hawkins echi
tyree pink lemonade
bonzai
red planet
sunset monti
tyree tri color (dont usually like tricolors, but this one has some real promise)

to name a few

Nice Neal, it's refreshing to see corals displayed on something other than another wall. Your stuff is as far from my system and philosophy as one can be but proof that if you understand where you are trying to go, there are many routes that will get you there in style. I had to go check out your thread, but i see why it works. Well done m8.
