the spot is between first and 2nd white stripe...

This may sound stupid....but does it move????

I had spots on my maroon clowns like that and once I really watched them they moved. It was a type of parasite. A fresh water dip for 10 min. fixed the problem....

Not that this is what you have, but its possible???

Just a suggestion..

I noticed the same thing on my female ocellaris a few days ago! I couldn't get a good pic so I was thinking I would just wait and see what happened but since I saw the topic, I'll chime in....

WHAT IS IT?????

The parasite was called: Benedeniella Monogenean

Their movement is real subtle.....

I was unsure until I took one out of the bucket and looked at it through a microscope for a positive id. I fresh water dipped them for 10 minutes and they all fell off. They have since came back and I had to dip them again the other day.

The owner of my lfs said he had them on a couple of his fish and he had to dip them 4-5 times before they went away.

Good thing is that other than a little fraying of the fins it does not seem to hurt the fish.

My 3 year old female ocellaris has a spot that looks like your spot.

The 3 year old female has had the spot for like 2-3 years, and she only has 1 spot.

My fish has never hosted a coral, or a anomone, only the powerhead and hair algae.

I figure it is a beauty mark.

hope that helps.
