Daylight Savings Time photoperiod

Howdy All.

My clowns get up with the sun each morning and then the lights go on at 9:00 and run until 7:00. Then we have some ambient lighting in the living room until around 11:00. Having the tank face an east facing window is niced because they get a nice natural sunrise with some direct sunlight (it does cuase some algea but it's worth it.)

They have recently started breeding and I don't know if I should change their light timer to daylight savings time or just leave it, afterall the ocean doesn't have daylight savings time... My inclination is to leave the timers alone which means they'll run from 10:00 to 8:00.

What does everyone else do with their lights during daylight savings time?

I wouldn't worry about it but if you want to make it as gentle as possible you could always shift the timer to DST slowly. Maybe move the start/end times 15min every other day.

That a very good question

Simon's recomendation is very good also, when this happens I just move the timer, click, click, click to the new time, I am not changing my schedule for fish, have not disturbed any of my multispecies pairs.

I leave mine alone.

Today, the lights turn on at 5:45 am EST and turn off at 4:30 pm EST. This coming Sunday, the lights will turn on at 6:45 am EDT and turn off at 5:30 pm EDT.
