DD has a Conspicuos

Might be my favorite angel....Maybe someday.

Wonder why they had him for 6 months before putting him up for sale?

wanted to make sure it was healthy and eating. I bought a blue spotted angel from them two years ago - they'd held it a few months because it wasn't eating reliably, and that was a much less expensive fish. (it took me another couple months to get it good and fat - but I'm sure it wouldn't have made it without their TLC).

6 months is a long time....I was thinking perhaps it was in some sort of display tank.

this fish is enigma to me...only 3 divers or so have license to collect it i heard...anybody know what is yearly collection numbers of this fish...

Beautiful fish but sorry at that price the fish should be perfect. I'm assuming the reason the fish was held for so long because the dorsal fin was damaged during shipping or somewhere along the way. The fish looks like it healed very nicely but the fish now has an imperfection. Rather large size for that price IMO. T

Why do you guys get so worked up over this fish? I see these for sale regualarly at my LFS and for half the price. And this guy was fat and eating and the best part is, you actually get to see it with your own eyes.

But that's not the same species that was posted. :D

That is the same exaxct species as posted, That fish is sometimes called a true personifer sometimes, no clue why, but it is indeed the same species as the mentioned in the OP. Step up your angel knowledge lol:spin1:

Actually...the OP is talking about a Chaedontoplus Conspicullatus angel. You are talking about a Chaedontoplus Personifer (collected in Western Austrailia) in your picture. The common version you are referring to is the Chaedontoplus Meredithi.

I own a conspicuous and a Personifer, so I know the difference between what the OP is posting on DD bs the picture you posted.

I think it is you who needs to "step up your angel knowledge"

The OP was referring to a conspicillatus/conspic, not meredithi/personifer. It's not the same fish. Don't mean to offend but I think it is you who need to step up your angelfish knowledge.

By the way, the meredithi looks like a personifer, hence why when you get a personifer, people refer to it as a true personifer. A meredithi is a lot more common, hence cheaper in the trade.

I'm sorry jaa1456, but Lisa is right. They aren't the same species at all.

there are three licenses
what i heard is that one guy emigrated to Australia
one guy died
and only one is collecting active
400 to 600 are exported per year

Beat me to it...damn!LOL

USD2,500 is not too bad a price, especially if DD's reputation is all that. The last one I saw was priced at £1,800, but it's always more expensive this side of the pond.
