DD has a Conspicuos

Well you proved your point...I'm not a biologist. I'm a hobbyist.

C. personifer vs C. Personifer
C. conspicullatus (conspicuous) vs. C. Conspicullatus (Conspicuous)
 
Personally the conspic shown on DD is tempting, however I just think the piece missing from the fin, just doesn't justify the price. Hate to treat fish like a piece of art, however when you are looking at a rare fish that is this type of investment, I really think it has to be PERFECT....just my opinion.

I am in the midst of an upgrade, and will have two very large tanks to work with. I am on the fence with a conspic or a clarion. I work with an outfit in NY that can get very nice rare angels. They have been trying to sell me the clarion they have had for some time, but I am still a couple of months off.....I would expect it will still be available. If they had a "taker" I will go ahead and get him / her ahead of schedule. The difference between the conspic at DD and the Clarion, is that the Clarion "to my naked eye" is perfect, while the conspic had some obvious damage in transport, or other.

Great fish nonetheless, and I am sure it will sell.
 
The picture I have listed is not a C. personifer, When you figure out what it is then you can comment, I know there are a few knowledgable people on this site, But please do step up your angel knowledge as everyone has been wrong so far on the fish I posted, They are in fact the same exact fish. Please Please Please learn all the details of the fish and what they look like stressed and not stressed.

I'll give you a 2/10 for your trolling attempt. It even says true personifer on the tank.

Very tempting but I agree for $2500 the fish should be perfect. Would look good with my True Personifer though.......
 
I held off from mentioning that the angel was not only clearly not a conspic, but that the proper species ID was on the tank. I didn't want to embarrass jaa1456. Turns out he managed to do it to himself. :)

Well you have managed to prove to everyone that you have absolutely nothing to add to any thread. You have done this in others and continue to do it here. You are trolling for attempts to look knowledgable but are just digging yourself into a hole where there is no escape.

The fish you posted is whatever you want it to be. It could be a whale for all that it concerns me. Your posts are uneducated and irrelevant to any of te postings that the OP has.

Have you ever seen a stressed conspic have a purple face with jet black body? Oh and don't forget the huge black stripe through the tail.

Jaa1456 - let enough be enough. Continue and Buster will be close behind.

I suspect you might consider taking your own advice. It is not a true personifer and indeed it is not even the species being discussed.

Steve, the fish jaa1456 posted is a true personifer, Chaetodontoplus personifer, FWIW. Also yes, Jay was talking about scientific names. You only capitolize the genus name and not the species name, like I wrote above. Also, it is always best to write them in italics when possible, if using hand writing they should be underlined.

Either way, I hope whoever gets this fish has a nice cool tank for it. They are getting an amazing specimen. I also agree that the fish most likely had dorsal fin injury upon LA receiving it, but it has healed nicely. It looks like it is still healing a little and I suspect the coloration will look better after the healing process is complete. LA having it for 6 months means you are getting a very well adjusted fish, that should have little problem adjusting to a tank of the proper temp.
 
Yes, they come from areas where the water is cooler, and in turn we should provide them with cooler water in the home aquarium.
