IT has NO bubbles at all from the bottom to about 6" up the skimmer chamber

Looks good to me, mine runs like that. I believe the concept behind that is so the microbubbles doesn't escape into the output of the skimmer if the bubbles any lower.

It looks normal. Like slovan said it is to keep the micro bubbles from getting out.

The plumbing is metric. If you wan to go metric to metric you can order it from savko. Most don't. If the output plumbing is the same size as the recirc 200 1 1/4 PVC slips inside of it tight enough to solvent weld. You also have the option of getting one of those rubber boot with the hose clamp from the plumbing section if Tyou want to go metric to standard.

Huge is a good thing.
