Dead coral

Is there anything you can do with dead sps coral? I got a box filled with skeletons from someone and I didn't know if they were safe to put back in a tank. I remember reading something about boiling them but I can't do a search.

well u can, but they aren't going to look white and neat for long.

you could certainly use them as live rock. i mean, all live rock is basically carbonate based rock or old coral skeletons encrusted with organisms.

i've been toying with the idea of putting some in my sump to see what would colonize it in the dark. you could try that, or even use is as rock in your display. eventually it will get covered in coralline and stuff.

Some people use them in their Ca reactors.
