Dead Flame Angel.. Questions!!

I bought my Flame Angel ARC exactly 7 days ago. I acclimated him for 1 1/2 hours and as soon as i put the fish into the tank (75 gal) he swam around met everyone ( i have a Diamond goby, black occeleris clown, organge clown, a small yellow tang, and a spotted mandarin fish then a cleaner shrimp, banded serpent star and 12 hermit crabs) My yellow tang the first day gave him some trouble when it went into the tangs territory and the tang would see him and quickly push him out then after that the angel set up his own space on the other side and since then no aggression at all between the fish. Well today i woke up and the angel wasnt swimming around as much and definatly not active. When it was time to feed them he didnt swim to me like he usually does with all the other fish and didnt seem to eat much. then tonight i found him upside down under a rock dead... I quickly checked the params and ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 5, and ph 8.2 i read about they cant withstand copper and since i have inverts living in my tank for 3 months i assume there isnt any copper but i will bring a sample to my LFS tomorrow when they open. Any ideas? i inspected the body of the fish and there are literly no bite marks or anything on the fins or body... Im just wondering if i should be worried for the other fish! Thanks in advance!

could have been any number of factors being a WC fish. the dump and pray method is always a risk. flames are great canidates for qt imo. many angel owners treat with prazi pro. i'd give the potters angel primmer a good read and try again.

I got it from a reef creation

I think Toddmh typo'ed and meant to say that he would NOT have named the store.

Also, sometimes fish just die with no other reason than not being able to handle the stress of being yanked out of it's natural home, so on and so forth.

it's extremely difficult to diagnosis exactly what happened here based solely on what has been posted in a thread on RC.
Angelfish (in general) are more of a challenge to keep than the other fishes you have. As already mentioned they can be more prone to stress during shipping, handling, acclimation etc. It wouldn't hurt to double check water parameters if you're concerned about the health of your other fishes.

As with any WC fish, especially Angels, you will run into the possibility of fatalities. Fish may do well through capture, transport, acclimation to the shop. But sometimes it slowly takes a toll on them and they could pass. It happens, and has to probably every single one of us. I would go with Gary and double check everything to be on the safe side. We'd rather see that you are taking the steps to make sure everything is up to par than accidentally miss something.

I told you I didn't have luck with a flame angel either Jed. If you were only going to quarantine for less than 2 hours, i wouldn't of put it through all that stress of a second capture. But I'm not an expert
