HELP

My husband is out of town and I don't know how to test the water. It is 55 gallons. He got it about a month ago. I was afraid to leave it in the tank so I put it in a cup. Should I put it back in? I was very limp in the net when I pulled it out. Please help I don't want it to die.

Usually when a nem starts to die, it doesn't stop. I've never had luck getting them back to health. It looks like it's going out, but it's hard to tell

Anemones will ALWAYS do two things when they die. Smell and disintegrate. Both are undeniable. Putting it in a cup is not a good idea, put him back in your tank (unless it is already too late). Don't let him (if you can) catch himself in the currents and be thrown all over the place. He sure doesn't look good, but anemones are very weird creatures and behave in strange ways. It is definitely hard to get them back to health if they are near dead though. Let's hope that your tank parameters are in reasonable shape, if he isn't dead. Let us know how it goes.

It looks like its sick. If it was going to die, it would have fallen apart in your hands. We have some anemonies that have come back from getting really beat up from a powerhead. Put it back in the tank and if she starts to seem like she is falling apart, take her out becuase she would then be dead. Maybe do a water change and if it seems like its coming back to life at all, feed it and dip the food in selcon.

Yup what A&D said totally. That clownfish if definetely not helping the situation at all. Get it outta there QT him or keep him in a large net or something. That clownfish is finishing the job.
