Dead refugium....have an idea

OK, well since vodka dosing again I simply cannot keep chaeto alive anymore. I have a 150 gallon SPS and Clam tank heavily stocked with fish and corals.

The tank is reef ready 72x18x27. Each overflow box has its' own sump. The first is where a calcium reactor and external ETSS skimmer get their feed water. The second overflow feeds what was my refugium. They were both connected with bulkheads and the return pump pulls from the refugium side only. This creates an easy way to determine evaporation.

To make a short story long, the refugium was an entire 29 gallon tank and now has nothing but about 25 - 30 pounds of live rock and barebottom. Because I have angels in my display that don't bother my sps, I've never been able to have nice lps corals. I installed my 30" Sunpod with 150 watt HQI over the 29 gallon "refugium" and was wondering if anyone else has corals grwoing in their sump that may otherwise be in trouble in their display. Could I also double this as a frag tank? Good idea or bad....

Thanks in advance.
