What's the secret people have? Biological controls to keep in check? Full on tank nuking? Pain and suffering as part of your regular maintenance on the tank?
I'm currently doing the last option with aiptasia. I see an aiptasia, I pull the rock, grab some cutters cut the rock where the aiptasia is on and replace. I just hope that I won't have zero rock in the future
. I did my rock scaping such that no rock was more than 2-3 rocks deep, meaning I would have to move at most 2-3 rocks to get to any other rock. It seems to be useful, however I might be getting to my wits end if since I see a tiny little aiptasia just about every time I look at the tank.
Wondering if I should simply up the ante and throw peppermint shrimp in knowing I'll never eradicate them, but something hopefully keeps them in check, the only problem is I have 30 square feet of tank, and I'm not sure peppermint will really wander around the tank too far. I wouldn't mind going the long nose butterfly or copper band route, unfortunately corals aren't grown in yet so don't want to risk killing them with a particularly hungry guy that has a taste for LPS.
Also noticed some red planeria too that I thought I eradicated before putting over... at least with them I can nuke the tank with a few bottles of FWE. Or I could maybe see if I can find a wrasse that eats them.
