Dealing with waste

So I have a G. Chiragra (sp?) in my 5.5g reef. I got a question as i intently watched him beat the mess out of a emerald crab... how do i deal with the waste? I already have a HOB filter rated for 40g, what else should i do? Or will it just not be that bad, because i did notice he seemed to eat almost every part of the crab. part 2: I just noticed he seems to have one of the crabs claws locked onto one of his legs... is that okay? it doesnt seem to be bothering him, will it just fall off?

Dr. Roy suggests 10 gal for an adult G. chiragra.

Make it a point to remove any uneaten food, of you find it.

And yes, it will fall off eventually. However, "it" may be the mantis' leg. :)

yeah I'm thinking of upgrading to a ten in the near future, it was originally set up for a Wennerae but things changed. Okay, ill just need to run some carbon then, i already do 15% weekly water changes.
