So I dont know what to do . My sea cucumber killed its self it got to close to a power head and got sucked in and I wasnt around to save him. Next i am also not sure what this is all about but my 6 striped wrassee is looking not so upbeat. Please someone help me.

Start changing water. 30% first. Also start running activated carbon. I would run it for a few hours then toss and start again with fresh. But the water changes are going to be your best bet. The cuke nuked your tank. They emit toxians when they die in stress.

Good Luck

Oh yeah don't forget to make sure the fresh salt water is the same tempeture as the tank. You dont want to shock anything further

godspeed

Thank you I just did a water change about 15 min before I posted this not sure actually 30% but about 4 to 5 in down from the top. and changed the filter, carbon got the cuke out everything I could think being a nebe. I hope everthing else doesnt die. Is this likely.

Ouch, yeah they are very toxic (prevents them from being lunch). I agree with the carbon and water changes. Go liberal with the carbon! I'm not sure if setting you skimmer to 'wet' will help, but I'm sure it won't hurt either.

I would do a 15% water change in a few hours or first thing in the morning. You don't want the water chemistry to change to radically. You don't have that much water in your system so things change quick. Remember the Reef keepers credo " The Solution to Pollution is Dillution"

ARE ALL SEA CUCS DANGEROUS,,,i think the purple ones and yellow thorny ones are not that toxic if killed, which one do you or did you have?

well i dont think any are dangerous if they just die, but if they get stressed and die then you are in trouble...try that carbon i gave you that should do wonders, just when you replace your old carbon itss a good idea to place the new carbon in front of the old for a few days to transfer some good bacteria to the new carbon filter, this way you dont throw off your bacterial growth and upset the tank in anyway...
