Debelius' Reef Lobster

I got mine 2 months ago and I never see him. He makes a burrow and i'll you will ever see is his head and claws. He molted a few weeks ago and i haven't seen him since.

I got one, had it since day one. Before that he was in someone elses tank for 6 years, so he's going on 8 years in a tank.

Mine is very shy, comes out at night. You may see him durring feeding time. I suspect he may have killed a couple small gobies and maybe some snails, but seems to be okay with other fish. no issues with corals, clams or shrimp etc.

Well i picked one up a while back put it in and it hasnt done anything bad or good. I dont see it.but i know where it hides and thats the only way i know its in there. To bad cause there quite awesome looking.

Okay...I couldn't bring myself to get rid of him. Everytime he molts, my wife calls me at work and says, "Babe, I think the lobster is dead!" It just cracks me up.

I've had two in my 120 reef tank now for about 4 years. I can't say they've ever caused any problems (that I know of). While they are pretty neat, I rarely see them as they hide in the rocks during the day and rarely come out at night. They're fun to look for and I'm assuming they help clean up food that doesn't get eaten by my fish.

Falls into the "pretty but you will never see it category".

Looks cool in that little cube with nowhere to hide. In a reef it might as well be hideous, you will never know the difference.

If it is reef safe or not is irrelevant, at least to me.

I had one for a while, as stated above it was rarely seen. It was a good citizen and didnt harm anything that I ever noticed.
