Decaying trumpet

So i got a piece of trumpet that went from a 150 watt halide, 30 gallons to my 50 watt PC 11 gallon. I feed it every night and it puffs it up and it looks good in the morning but slowly shrinks throughout the day and looks horrible right before the lights go out. Is it getting to much light? I run my lights 9 hours, all my parameters are good, and i really wanna keep this coral alive!

Can you put the coral lower down in your tank to reduce the light.
