Hey guys and gals, im wanting to be able to take some Decent Macro Shots in my tank without spending DSLR Camera price, doesnt have to be professional shots, just a guy wanting decent quality photos, i have found this camera and done some research on it and seems to have a pretty good feature set for what im wanting, its a Samsung - Wi-Fi WB150F, tell me what your opinions are, and any suggestions would be appreciated, also not wanting DSLR due to size at the moment. Thanks

You can improve the images from any camera with a good photoshop program. If you dont want to spring for a dslr, get photoshop and learn how to use it. I've seen some incredible images taken with iphones!

It sounds like your referring to a point and shoot style vs dslr. IMO you can't beat a canon with a good macro lens, they are expensive, 1000(at least) for camera and another 1000 for lens. That said, no matter what your shooting with, iPhone, dslr or P&s, you need a tripod. It will mean the difference between a quality image and some guy with a camera... Line up the shot on the tripod and start firing. Use a remote trigger or delay so you don't shake it when you press the button. Also shoot straight thru the glass, if you come at an angle it bends the light and does some really bizarre things. (Photo means light) You can advance to that level later but will use photoshop at that point.

So for now, use a tripod, shoot straight and steady, have fun!

You can actually do pretty well with $1000 going the DSLR route. 100mm macro is $600 and you could pick up a very capable used body for $400. That said, the OP is asking about a specific camera.

One of the most challenging things about reef tank photography is the color of lights we use. The best way around that is to shoot in RAW format and adjust it in software. The camera you posted is JPG only which will make it much more difficult to get the results you're expecting.

Thanks for all the replies guys, and yeah im just looking for a P&S like the one in the original post, something within 200$-250$ and can take "decent" macro pics, doesnt have to be anything "professional" just decent. but any suggestions on a P&S around that range or any specific Specs to be looking for in a P&S like Aperature range Ect that i should be looking for would be appreciated!

Yes, just get a Point and Shoot that shoots in RAW. The Canon G series comes to mind.
