Decent Photo?

This is my latest purchase for my tank and I have been trying in vain to tak a decent picture of. On a good note is is forcing me to learn a great deal more about my camera.. A Canon A85 Point & shoot.

How is this picture, any good?

Definitely a great start, if you're really just starting out! It might be nice to brighten it up just a little. This can be done either in the camera by using a longer shutter speed or larger aperture, or in post-processing, such as Photoshop.
 
Yes, definately a good shot. Cool piece, too!
As for the above suggestions, I would recommend post processing as opposed to longer exposure. The reason being that with a longer exposure you will get blur (depending on how long the exposure is) unless the piece is motionless.
 
I've had the camera for a couple of years but never really sat down with it and learned to use it. It was set to Auto for most of that time.. I'm just now getting into using it manually. I think I took around 50 and came out with one I liked.
