Decor Rock

I am upgrading to an 8x2x2 tank this weekend, I have purchased an additional 6100 and 7095 controler. I ntend to place one pump in each back corner facicng the centre of the front glass.

How can I stop the substrate being drawn in and fired out of the pump, I would like the rock to sit on the bottom , but in my current setup I had to prop it up on rocks to stop this

The rock should not sit on the botom. The sand can severely damage the pump. It shuld be at the top of a rock structure for this reason as well as to make removal for maintanence easier.
