Deep Blue 35G Frag Tank

Anyone have any thoughts on cleanup crew? Also, to fish or not to fish? I was thinking of a 4 line wrasse and a blenny or some sort. I'm sure I will have to add a screen top if I add fish.

I also have a few fish in my DT that I could pull and put in the frag tank but they wont really provide the same services that a 4 line or Blenny would.

McCosker Flasher Wrasse
Helfrichi Firefish
Blue Green Chromis
x2 B&W Ocellaris clown

wow. i love the organization you have. i'll need to invest in a few of those bar things with the next build. i would at least add some snails unless your going to break the tang police rule and throw in a tang to eat the algae. why do you want a 4 line. flat worms? if so i would look into a melanurus wrasse instead.

Sweet frag tank! If it's truly a frag tank, then my fish list will be:
Yellow tang/Kole tang (to eat the algae)
Melanarus/yellow coris wrasse to eat any bad worms
Tail spot blenny or lawnmower blenny for algae control and their awesome personality! :)

Yeah, I like the cable tracks a lot. I also used them on DT wiring closet and they worked a treat.

I was toying with putting my Kole tang in the frag tank to be honest and see how he does - if he appears stressed and hates life then I can put him back into the DT I suppose.

Yeah, I think im gunna put my Kole tang in there and see how he does. I'm liking the idea of the melanarus wrasse more and more too. I had some great advise on another thread I started too on this so will see. Lots of ideas and things to think about.

Got a few things done off of the check list:

Added Salt

Is that the 1" thick marinepure blocks?

I was reading that only the 4" blocks were capable of removing nitrates.

Alright so was able to get a few more things checked off, of the todo list over the last week.

Calibrated the pH probe
Added Miracle mud and Chaeto to the sump
Made egg crate frag holder
Currently cycling the tank with ammonium chloride - Ammonia is undetectabe and Nitrate is at 1ppm. So not long to go.

As always pic heavy post so enjoy.

So far as fish I'm still not 100% sure what to go with. I'm pretty set on trying my kole tang in here and see how he goes. If he doesn't like it or appears stressed back to the DT he will go.

That will be it for the updates for now until I get the Radion installed and the tank is fully cycled.

Questions and advise more than welcome. Thanks

I dont think they actively remove nitrates. They provide a fantastically porous habitat for nitrifying bacteria but that is it.

Is that the 1" thick marinepure blocks?

Yes, its the 1" block. Been in my DT sump or 2-3 months. I think i'm going to get more and replace the live rock section of my sump with more of this stuff.
