Deep Blue 80 Rimless

Planning a new tank after several years out of the hobby. Shopping around I found a local used Deep Blue 80 rimless 48x24x16 RR with front starfire glass. Tank has no issues, glass is pristine. It is the aprox volume I am looking for, although the 16" depth wasn't exactly what I had in mind. Asking $300.00 for tank and stand. Stand is a DIY by a local carpenter, the height dimension is taller than what I planned (42"), so I would probably invest in another stand. My question is about the price. 300.00 price fair or no? Thanks!!

Fair is all relative. If you feel the quality and condition of tank/stand is worth $300 or not.

Typically I'll compare used prices to that of the same item new (usually right in the store via my phone).

Not a bad price, I think that tank goes from $4-600 price range. You can easily find it online to compare.

not to be a pain but I would steer clear of deep blue products they are not of the best quality i bought 1 of there t 5 lamps and had nothing but problems had it replaced by a local retailer 3 time in the first two months the third one did last till about a week after warranty expired not to say I do not buy deep blue any longer

Denb I have been searching threads about DB products, I too have seen some of the negative reviews. I'll do more reading and weighing pros and cons. Used RR tanks the size I'm looking for (75-90 gal) are not easy to find in my area. Thanks again everyone!!

i have the deep blue 57 for 3 years now, just got 2 deep blue 80. never had a problem with there tanks. the stand that came with the 57 was a little cheap and hard to work with but the oak stand that i got with the 80 is much better built and easier to work under

I have had a few DB rimless frag tanks and find the quality to be just fine. Cannot speak to any of their other stuff. I have the 60 now and actually wished I had gotten the 80 instead. Once you put in the frag racks, the 16" depths works better IMO.
