deep blue phosphate reducer

Deep Blue sucks, it was probably whatever coating they use on the filter media that made it go nuts.

Organic carbon dosing vodka, vinegar sugar takes some study and has a serious downside if overdosed. It's also primarily a nitrate reducer , less so for PO4 but helps.Sugar in particular is harmful to corals, ime. I'd try some gfo first if Phosphate is the issue. What is the level? Don't know what's in that Deep Blue pad so I don't know if it affected your skimmer.

The best product I've used is aqua vision phosphate remover. It brought the phosphates on my 180 reef from 0.26 to 0.03. First product I 'Ve used that did what it said.
