bill- why leds for a fish only tank?, or did that change since we saw you last?
 
Well it started for two reasons, heat and aesthetics. I have most of my tank in the garage so I needed to prevent as much heat from entering my tank as I could. Also, I liked the look of the LEDs on the tanks that I visited so that was also a factor. I always had it in the plans to add coral to the tank just never had the optimum water quality.
Soon come. Lol
 
Beautiful setup!!! I can't find those light hanging brackets from the beginning of this thread couple of years ago. Dang it. :headwalls: Oh well!!! Thanks for taking the time to post all of this for us to learn from!
 
I finally made a frame to hang my lights. I got a great deal on GHL Mitras units at Macna so I replaced the t5/Vega combo.
The frame is made from 80/20 aluminum and I re-purposed the Vega hanging kits along with the Mitras hanging kits.

Once I clean up all the writing I will take some better pics.
