Deep water acro issue

So I've this piece in my tank for a bit over a week now. I temperature acclimated it and did a coral dip to kill any hitchhikers that could have been on it. I added it with 3 other sps corrals and two days later a strawberry shortcake. I acclimated and dipped them all. With two days the strawberry shortcake was dead completely white. Now this morning I'm noticing this piece has a white section coming off of it too. You can see it in the back middle section of the corral. All the other pieces look amazing, and even the deep water still had its "feelers" out like its looking for food.

It's placed in the upper right hand corner of the tank under AI's and I started it in the sand and every couple days moved it up. It also has a koralia aimed right at it so it's getting good flow.

Any advice for me?

Do you test your KH? and other parameters? If not, invest in some Salifert test kits and start testing dKH, Ca, Mg. Nitrate and phosphate tests would also be worthwhile. What is your feeding and water change schedule like?

There are numerous pests that can survive the dips and come back to cause serious problems. Quarantining new additions for at least 3-4 weeks is the safest way to monitor new additions.

Make sure that the piece is receiving good flow, but not getting blasted by a constant stream. Its not uncommon for larger wild/maricultured pieces to struggle with adjusting to new surroundings. Especially if the conditions aren't appropriate. Were your new additions wild/maricultured?

I went ahead and dipped it again and broke off the white pieces. If they turn white there is no chance for them to grow again is there?

So in the last hour it has dropped in color even more! I've moved it to the bottom of the tank now. Hopefully that will help. Can anyone give me some help? This was a $90 piece I'd rather not loose!

more info on your tank would help but calcium is to high and how high do you have your lights set they could be bleaching from to much light i couldn't really tell from the pic but are they just fading white or is the tissue falling off?

I think your %are to high as well. corals take a while to get used to the LEDs from what I hear. do a search for ai sol success stories. Its in the equipment section, slots of good info.

I dipped a ss this week with a half dose and it was dead 10 min after I dipped it. I think its one that can't be dipped. I would leave it on the bottom and do not point any overhead directly at a coral.
double check your mag with another kit.600 is real low and you would have problems maintaining got alk. and ca

Unfortunately I think the corral is already shot. What I'm scared about now is if it is a bug, what coral will it move to next? It looks like the skin is just peeling off, as there is still some "spots" of color left. I'll order a Mg test online on Monday. Any brand that is recommended?

Are there other corrals that I shouldn't be dipping also? It makes me sick to know that I just lost two of my favorite pieces so quickly...

My lights are set at 45% at their peak of 12-5 during the day. They turn on early and slowly move to 45% by noon. They are ~ 12-14" off the tank.
