Our main clientele for the deepwater fish is japan and since they prefer smaller specimens, we usually target juvenile fish. We collect sunrise wrasse in the range from .5" to 6", yellow anthias from 1.5" to 5" and so on. You can get any fish in a smaller size, however, smaller specimens are usually a little pricier since they are both harder to collect and more desired by the asian hobbyists.
My personal tank favorite is the roa excelsa - only because there are only two living specimens in captivity currently. I think that makes them more rare than both the orange margin and masked angel. Baby yellow anthias a quite beautiful with their long streamers and hardy. The most durable deepwater fish though is the bodianus. They are bulletproof and will eat anything. There are a few fish down there that we still haven't been able to catch so we haven't been able to identify them yet. Hopefully some of them turn out to be new species....
