What is meant when people describe their tank as mixed reef?

Typically a mixture of different kinds of inverts/corals - softies, zooanthids, LPS and SPS

Its a loosely defined term. Many people use this to describe a tank that contains all the groups or several of the groups of corals such as LPS, SPS. softies, and corallimorphs. Some people would say you need fish in there too. In general, it means you have several different types of corals
