deformed xenia?

I have some xenia that looks to be doing very well, as far as the little hands "pumping" and what not. but the stalks that go from the liverock up to the little hands used to be nice and smooth, and now they are sort of like, have areas that are sunken in, and then area's that are pushed out sort of deformed like, and you can almost see light through parts of it. I was sort of thinking it was just new shoots starting to come off of the stalks, just in the beginning stages of that, but was wondering if it could be something bad too. Any ideas? i can probably get a picture if the description wasn't good. let me know. thanks

what kind of lighting do you have? mine are under 150w 6500k MH lights and do great, actually too good, I have been giving bunches of it away. I gave some to a person that did not have MH lights and it started with the thinning and the holes. As far as the areas that are pushed out, they are new stalks that are forming, that is a great sign. You may simply be going through some light shock. As long as they are producing the stalks and not melting, they should be fine, sometimes it takes them a while to adjust to new lighting.

It seems like they are melting, but they just have like little tiny spikes here and there also. I've only got 60 w power compact, but its on a 10 gallon tank. They've gotten worse today, more shrunken in, so i'm not really sure whats going on. My dad's tank has metal halides, should i try and move them over to the other tank if they keep getting worse? thanks

this is what it looked like a week ago. hard to see, but you can sort of see the stalks they were pretty much smooth

Looks to me like its not in the same place, given the rock work, etc... Could it be that you moved it from a place that it was trying to attach too?

Mine will often look like that when they are trying to attach to rock work, etc...

no its in the same exact place i havent touched it, i think it slid over about half an inch like i bumped somethin else and it slid down just a tiny bit, but other than that it hasn't been moved...
