Problem is I'm just running out of space to put new frags at this point and am having to pack them in tight. But I'm planning a tank upgrade within the next 6 months so I figure I should be able to re-arrange them before they start stinging each other too much!

Sand bed varies but is shallow. There are some bare spots along the back wall and in the back corners where there is high flow. Deepest spots are probably about 2". I use caribsea special grade which is a 1.0-2.0 grain size. When I started the balling method a couple months ago I got a 1kg pack of fauna marin NaCl free salt from cherry corals. I thought it was a bit expensive so I only got a small amount and am hoping there will be some more options avialable in the US soon. Tropic marine pro makes an nacl free salt but I'm not sure if it's available in the US yet. I use seachem salt for water changes.

Quick question, can you confirm your front-to-back bulb config? Did you change things around?

Bulb combo front to back:
KZ Fiji Purple *IC430
ATI Blue+ *IC660
KZ New Generation *IC660
ATI Blue+ *IC660
ATI Aquablue Special *IC660
ATI Blue+ *IC430

I've changed my bulb config several times but I've stuck with this combo for the last 4 or 5 months and it's the best combo I've found so far.

Well I wasn't happy with the washed out exposure I was getting on the last FTS I posted so I broke the camera out again and tried some wide apeture short exposure shots with better results.

Great tank. got a few questions for you. Do you find the zeostones and zeobak help with P04 reduction? or do you have other forms of P04 reduction

Do you run you zeostones 24/7 or 3hrs on 3hrs off like zeo recommends?

You dont dose any carbon source any more do you? ie vodka, zeostart2

What tunze do you use and i've noticed they are both on the back walls facing each other. what mode do you run them in and do you find this gives good flow thoughout the tank, especially the front?

I find that the zeobac and stones keep my PO4 relatively low. I don't have any other PO4 export system. I don't have a hanna test kit so I don't bother testing for PO4 but by observing algae growth and coral growth/coloration it seems to be relatively low.

I do run the stones 3hrs on/off as recommended although I recently looked back through the online guide book and noticed that it now only recommends the 3 hour cycle for starting existing tanks or tanks with high nutrients. Could have sworn they use to recommend it 3 on 3 off for any tank...

I don't dose vodka and I don't regularly dose zeostart. I've been dosing zeostart for the first week after changing stones out but rarely dosed during the rest of the cycle. I probably should be dosing more often

The Tunze's are 6101s. They are on an alternating 1 minute cycle with only one running at a time. They are powerful pumps for an 80 gallon and I find this is effective at generating a circular current in my tank with water in the front of the tank moving in an opposite direction to the water in the back of the tank.

Thanks, the bulbs are affixed to the roof of my canopy which puts them 3-3.5" off the water. It's a little closer than I would prefer since the reflectors get splashed on a fairly regular basis.

Where did you get this information? I thought that overdriven bubls would provide more par than the non overdriven ones. We all know that as far as coral growth, color and health is in concern PAR is the target, not watts. So if this information is true what is the meaning when using expensive icecap ballats?

deklin your tank looks amazing, i am setting up a custom 85g sps tank my dad an i built and i reallllyyy want anthias, people keep saying they are hard to keep, are they?

I had a couple of anthias such as Barbo, Resplended and Square for a couple of year in my 75Gal tank.
From my experience, the point to have anthias is the initial condition (such as having decompression) and tank mates.
Also, it is depends on what kind of anthias you want to have.

i like the barletts and the lyretails.

I heard from my friend that Bartlett's Anthias is very shy. He recommend me to put at least 5 Bartlett's Anthias in the tank. So, they might show in the front and much more easy to start eating prepare food. I do not know about lyretails.
