Delay Powerheads Upon Restart?

I'm still in the process of setting up my first reef tank and I bought the Apex with a bunch of extras. My tank is filling up as we speak.

I'm using an over the rim overflow to hit my sump and I'm afraid that if my power goes out the water level will drop in the tank and the powerheads may be exposes. I haven't had a chance to check yet because I'm still making water.

Is there a way to make the powerheads come on like 2 minutes after the power is restored to prevent them from splashing outside the tank?

Yes. In the program for your power head, you would have a statement like this:

If Power EB8_3 OFF 005 Then OFF

That will delay the startup of this outlet for 5 minutes after power resumes. It's most often used for skimmers but you can apply it to any outlet.
